In Val di Fassa, in the middle of the Dolomites of Trentino, you’ll definitely get your adrenaline rush. If you’re looking for an active holiday with relaxation and stunning food built in, look no further. If you’re a culture vulture you’ll be interested to know that Val di Fassa is the only valley in Trentino where the Ladin language is still spoken. 1. Ski fever
On 210 kilometres and 150 different slopes, 5 ski routes (Sellaronda, First World War ski route, Panorama Ski Route, Sass Becè and Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino) or 3 black slopes: Vulcano am Buffaure, Aloch in Pozza or La VolatA at the San Pellegrino Pass. If you’re a night owl, head to the Aloch in Pozza twice a week for night-time skiing.
2. For the whole family
The Val di Fassa Family Hotels, the family offers, and the ski schools were developed for the whole family. Here, your kids will have fun learning how to ski as well as making the most of the numerous other activities off the slopes: children's parks with igloos, bobsleigh, toboggan and snow tubing runs, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, visits to mountain farms, museums and much more.
3. Admire the landscape
You can do this while cross-country skiing, sleighing, horseback riding or on a snowshoe hike – the possibilities are endless! Take advantage of the Marcialonga’s 70-kilometre route and follow in the tracks of cross-country skiing pros! The valleys of Duron, San Nicolò, Monzoni, Gardeccia and Fuciade are ideal for snowshoeing or horseback riding.
4. Long Après-Ski Evenings
Take a whole tour, starting with the Paradis in Canazei, then on to the Cliff or Osteria La Montanara. A visit to the Dolomites Geyser in Pozza, a restaurant built entirely out of the rock, is a must. Fancy a beer? Take a look at the Bierbrauerei Rampeèr in Campitello, where you’ll find Ladin beers on tap, such as Tin Tan Ton, Gaardón Rye Stout, Arlark, Goč, Sfiokár and Arén Pils Ladina.
5. Make a splash
A visit to the Dolomia and QC Terme Dolomiti thermal baths in Pozza di Fassa is all-round beneficial. Here you can bathe in the waters of the only sulphurous spring in Trentino. Perfect for families: the Aquapark Vidor in Pozza and the Aquarena Dòlaondes in Canazei and the Eghes Wellness Centre. Fun and relaxation guaranteed, with water slides, spas and whirlpools.

7 Adrenaline rush
Snowparks await you at Belvedere near Canazei, at the San Pellegrino Pass and at Buffaure near Pozza. The San Pellegrino ski resort has been a training centre for slopestyle, freeski and skicross athletes as well as the national alpine ski team for years.
And: the most popular freeride destinations include Val Mezdì, Val Lastìes, the Marmolada and the north slope of Col Margherita on the San Pellegrino Pass. Dangerous but exciting: the Col Margherita Freeride Park.
8. Are you born a rider or do you become one?
There’s only one way to find out: come surf in Val di Fassa! The best-equipped snowparks are at Belvedere in Canazei (the soft landing on the giant mattress Big Air Bag is worth trying), at San Pellegrino Pass (slope-style trail in the American style) and at Buffaure in Pozza (known for the great variety of facilities you can test yourself with).
With regards to technical characteristics and slope prep, the San Pellegrino ski area has been for years training centre of slopestyle freeski’s and skicross’ national ski teams, in addition to alpine skiing’s.
